Timarelle: “Don’t worry, Gabe. Just calm down. They’re not going to send you to an internment camp or anything. We wouldn’t let them.”
Gabe: “Calm down?! I’M IN A CAMP RIGHT NOW!”

Physical Description: Gabe is small for his age and slight of build, with smooth, regular features and wiry black hair which sticks up stubbornly in the back of his head. Since coming to Camp Half-Blood, regular exercise have greatly increased his strength and stamina, but his muscles haven’t gotten much bigger, just more efficient. Some kids make fun of his small size, but he’s due for a growth-spurt any day now.

Personality: Gabe is very shy, and uncomfortable around girls. His small size and reserved persona have caused several other Campers to take him under their wing, making him the perpetual “kid brother” of their little group.

Background: Gabe is a sansei, a 3rd-generation Japanese-American, born in a small city on the California coast. His mother, Kimiko Miyazaki, is a cellist in the local Symphonic Orchestra. Unfortunately for her, the boy is tone-deaf. Gabe takes after his father’s love of poetry. After years of failed music lessons, Kimiko was forced to accept the ugly truth: her son, her only child, had no musical ability whatsoever.

Gabe listens to lots of music, and has an extensive CD collection, but he’s hopeless with an instrument. To compensate, Gabe throws himself wholeheartedly into poetry, memorizing and declaiming long passages to himself when he’s not busy reading, which isn’t often. Kimiko isn’t thrilled, but she accepts her son’s passion, and tries to support him as best she can.

Gabe’s favorite poets include Homer, Shakespeare, William Butler Yeats, Emily Dickinson, William Carlos Williams, Walt Whitman, and many more.

Flaws: Gabe has a notoriously weak bladder. In any highly stressful or frightening situation, Gabe must make a successful Fortitude save (DC ??) or pee his pants.
